This year has been a strange and confusing year all around the world. For some, it has been devastating and for others it has been a time to catch up on themselves or slow things down. While I only thought this pandemic would last a few months, and I enjoyed the downtime for a while, by the middle of it my morning walks and positive attitude turned into wearing the same cardigan for weeks while zoning out on the sofa in front of the TV with a biscuit box as my best friend.
But as the year came to an end I actually started to dead the world opening up again as I knew I would never get this time back again to indulge myself in creativity… and so I panic created. I stayed up late and spent my days drawing or working on some graphics as if there was an important client coming to collect the project at the end of the week. I started making a few printable Christmas mazes, then I decided to open an Etsy shop but the YouTube advice was to open with ten products at least. So panic, I knew I needed to open the Etsy store before Christmas because I had already created a pack of 20 Christmas maze puzzles to sell as a pack. I just needed ten more products…
And so I didn’t stop after my creative binge with the maze pack. I tied myself to my desk, and when I wasn’t teaching online or catching up on episodes of Miss Marple or Poirot or any other British period detective show, I created. Finally, after developing a love/hate relationship with my old computer and technology itself, I had created my other nine products for my Etsy store. I launched my store last night at https://www.etsy.com/ie/shop/CraftypadsShop .
I am excited to try this platform out as I enjoy making printables and crafts for the classroom. This is possibly a natural and obvious route to take for what I like doing. I hope you drop by it if you have read this so far and let me know what you think.
